There are many pregnant patients who have associated problems
such as old age, recurrent late pregnancy losses, high blood
pressure, diabetes, renal problems, infections such as malaria
and hepatitis and AIDS, low lying placenta etc. these are
known as high risk obstetric patients. Many of them are at
great risk from both the mother and baby's point of view.
They both need special care and monitoring during pregnancy.
They also need to have institutional delivery and intensive
care back-up. The baby's health is monitored with the aid
of advanced techniques such as non-stress tests (NST) and
color doppler as well as 3D and 4D ultra-sound. All these
facilities are available at our units and we are adapt at
managing them.
